United Nation goal 13

    Deliverable
An A2 poster, a 6 page leaflet and a social media asset including a short animation.

Brief
This project involved designing a set of outcomes for a group exhibition based on the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in partnership with Project Everyone (2017).  The exhibition took place in late 2023 to early 2024, highlighting the urgency of action as the 2030 SDG deadline approaches.

Target Audience The target audience consisted of university students and tutors, primarily aged 18–25, based in the UK or currently living in Britain.

Solution An A2 poster focused on audience engagement, a 6-page DL leaflet designed to inform, and a social media asset for engagement and awareness

Project aim
This project addresses SDG 13: Climate Action, highlighting the urgent need to respond to global warming and its growing impacts. Rising temperatures are already driving extreme weather and record heat in the UK, including the hottest summer on record in 2022. The project encourages simple actions such as using public transport, reducing energy use, and cutting food waste to help limit further warming
Inspirations

Through the moodboard, I discovered that distorting familiar objects can create a strong emotional response, making the impact of global warming feel more immediate and personal.

.Concept development

All of these concepts communicate the message of stopping global warming clearly; however, many rely on overused visual elements such as polar bears and burning Earth imagery.

Final idea

The final concept uses a familiar object, the snow globe, to symbolise safety and control.

By distorting its base, the design suggests that global warming is destabilising the world we rely on.

Placing recognisable London landmarks inside makes the issue feel immediate and personal. This visual disruption reinforces the urgency of UN SDG 13: Climate Action.
